Getting better

Hi all, sorry for the slow update but today was the first day of real improvement for Margot and she is feeling a lot better. Now that her intestines have started to work a little she was allowed a small bowl of broth which was her first food by mouth in seven days. She is staying in under observation for the weekend and then we will see what's next.

Nick

p.s. Nala was also in 'hospital' for a day with the vet. She got a spike of grass embedded in her neck and she had to have a small operation to remove it. She, also, is feeling better.

  1. Nick thanks so much for the update! Yay for broth.
And I'm glad to hear Nala survived assault by grass. :o)

  2. Wonderful news. Thank you, sir. Today, broth... tomorrow, soup. ;p

How in heck does a spike of grass get through all the fur? Don't tell me she was rolling around like a dog?

Good question. No idea. She was definitely not rolling around like a dog.

  6. No self respecting Chow would ever be caught rolling around in the grass. Was it an odd type of grass? like that kind that gets into their skin and works it was in - I have heard it looks like a watermelon seed with a sharp point. Glad to hear that Margo is making dietary progress.

  8. Sorry not to have been in touch. I've had a manic month trying to get my house ready for the next lot of tenants and so neglected reading your blog and didn't know Margot was in hospital. Sincerely hope she is better.

  9. Foxtail. That was it. I could not remember what it was called.

  10. Foxtails are evil...I had one work its way completely into a cat's eye, and learned to check dog toes frequently for the damn things because they work their way into the skin between the toes.

    How's Margot doing?
